What do I need to bring?

You should bring your own food, drinks and shelter.  Consider also bringing camp chairs and maybe a folding table. There is no shelter from the weather other than what you bring, so you may want to bring a rainfly or pop-up canopy to carve under in case of inclement weather or just to hide from the sun.

Is there going to be greenwood onsite for carving?

There will definitely be some wood onsite.  We'll do our best to bring a variety for folks to carve.

Will there be axe blocks onsite for us to use?

There may be a limited number of communal axe blocks available for folks to use, but suggest you bring your own if it's portable.  The same goes for shave horses and spoon mules, bring them if you have them and want to use them during the gathering.

Can families and children come?

Of course, families and children are welcome to join us!  If children are going to participate and carve, parents are expected to supervise their children while carving to minimize risk of injury.  There is a playground in the campground, as well as woods and a small stream to explore.

When can I arrive and when do I need to leave?

The gathering starts Wednesday July 9th at 3 pm.  Folks should plan on arriving during daylight hours, if at all possible. Our gathering is on a working horse farm, and we want to minimize impact to our hosts.  Folks should depart by 11 am on Sunday July 13th.
